Indian wrestler Priyanshi Prajapat won a silver medal at the World Wrestling Championship in Albania despite being trapped due to rising war tensions in the Middle East, with assistance from Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.
Priyanshi Prajapat, a wrestler from Madhya Pradesh, achieved significant recognition by winning a silver medal at the World Wrestling Championship Ranking Series held in Tirana, Albania. Her victory is especially remarkable given the context of rising war tensions in the Middle East, which left her stranded in a challenging situation. Thanks to the high-level efforts of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, she was safely brought back home to India, highlighting the importance of government support in times of crisis.
The championship lasted from February 24 to 28, and Priyanshi secured her decisive match victory on February 26. Throughout the competition, she demonstrated her prowess by defeating notable wrestlers from Kazakhstan, the USA, and the host country, Albania, to clinch the silver medal. This achievement adds to her previous accolades, including a gold medal in the Asian Series last year, further establishing her as a prominent athlete in her sport and representing India on an international stage.
Following her safe return to India, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav communicated with Priyanshi’s family in Ujjain via video call, expressing his support and concern during the ordeal. Priyanshi's father conveyed gratitude towards the Chief Minister for the assistance and guidance provided during this difficult time, emphasizing the critical role of leadership and government intervention in ensuring the safety of citizens abroad during crises.
