Fire destroys broom and mop warehouse factory in Goiânia; video
A fire at a broom and mop warehouse in Goiânia spread to a nearby junkyard, complicating firefighters' efforts due to electrical hazards and combustible materials.
On the night of Wednesday, the 4th, a fire broke out at a broom and mop manufacturing warehouse in the Ipiranga neighborhood of Goiânia. Witnesses captured dramatic footage showing the height of the smoke as firefighters struggled to approach the flames. According to the Corpo de Bombeiros, the fire was challenging to control, especially due to the nearby electrical network which posed additional hazards during the firefighting efforts.
Firefighter Alex Parreira explained that once the electricity was cut off, another significant issue arose due to the presence of combustible materials such as wood within the warehouse. He stated that the quantity of flammable items made it increasingly difficult to combat the blaze effectively. The situation worsened as the fire spread from the warehouse to a neighboring junkyard, leading to further complications.
Tragically, an old truck located at the scene was consumed by the flames as well, which highlighted the extent of the devastation. The emergency response and the widespread impact of the fire underscore the dangers associated with warehouses containing flammable materials, and the necessary precautions that need to be in place to prevent such incidents in the future.
