Building of the former Cleóbulo Amazonas Duarte school becomes the new headquarters of UME Dino Bueno
The UME Dino Bueno in Santos, Brazil, has inaugurated a new facility in the location of the formerly closed Cleóbulo Amazonas Duarte state school, following significant renovations and investments.
The UME Dino Bueno, located in Santos, São Paulo's coastline, has officially inaugurated its new headquarters in the renovated space of the former state school Cleóbulo Amazonas Duarte. This renovation, funded by an investment of R$ 7.1 million from the Secretary of Education (Seduc), was celebrated during a ceremony held on Tuesday, October 4. The new facility is designed to accommodate 360 students from the 1st to the 5th grades of elementary education, with a full-time program already in operation since the beginning of the school year.
The Cleóbulo Amazonas Duarte school was closed in 2018 and subsequently housed the Regional Education Board (DRE). In 2023, the premises were transferred to the municipal government of Santos for the establishment of the UME Dino Bueno. Previously located in a rented building on Rua Cunha Moreira, the school is now able to operate in a facility that is fully revitalized and owned by the local government, allowing better resources and environment for students.
This move not only signifies a commitment to improving educational infrastructure in the region but also reflects a broader trend in São Paulo where local governments are actively seeking to enhance educational offerings. As schools like UME Dino Bueno expand and improve facilities, they provide better opportunities for foundational education, which is essential for the development of the youth in the community.
