Turkish Airlines has reported a net profit of $2.7 billion for the year 2025, showing an increase from $2.55 billion in 2024, according to a statement released on Wednesday. This growth in profit highlights the airline's continued recovery and expansion in the competitive aviation market after the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Additionally, the airline's total equity increased significantly, rising from $15.46 billion at the end of 2024 to $20.7 billion in 2025. Turkish Airlines also revealed that they welcomed their 500th aircraft to their fleet by the end of 2025, a remarkable achievement allowing them to grow their fleet from just 65 planes in 2003 to a substantial 500. This milestone underlines the company's commitment to expanding its operations and capabilities.
The airline played a crucial role in the Turkish economy, contributing approximately $65 billion this year, with aspirations to double that figure to $150 billion by 2033, as stated by Chairman Ahmet Bolat. This ambitious goal reflects the airline's plans for further growth and consolidation of its position in the global aviation market, contributing to economic recovery and development in Turkey.
