Tram, the hypothesis of error. The race to finish the shift

A tram derailed in Milan, resulting in two deaths and numerous injuries, with investigations pointing toward human error as a likely cause.

On February 27, a tragic tram derailment on line 9 in Viale Vittorio Veneto, Milan, resulted in the deaths of two individuals: Ferdinando Favia, 59, and Johnson Okon Lucky, a 49-year-old Nigerian national, along with over fifty injured passengers. The 60-year-old driver, Pietro M., who had a commendable 34-year tenure with the public transportation company Atm, is currently under investigation for involuntary railway disaster, manslaughter, and multiple injuries. Key evidence such as the tram's black box, radio recordings, the driver's mobile phone, and Atm's documents have been seized by the public prosecutor's office, led by Elisa Calanducci, as part of their inquiry into the tragedy.
