The article discusses an interactive project that encourages creativity among children and adults alike by focusing on the work of renowned Latvian sculptor Teodors Zaļkalns. Each day throughout March, the project will highlight various artistic themes and ideas, inviting participants to submit their owns pieces of artwork for publication on LSM.lv. This initiative aims to foster interest in museums, arts, and culture among the younger generation, culminating in rewards for selected contributions.
Teodors Zaļkalns, celebrated for his animal representations, especially through his piece titled 'Pig,' serves as the foundation for this project. His technique involved studying living animals in rural environments, which he immortalized in his sculptures. The piece also emphasizes the connection between art and nature, introducing children to the importance of observing their surroundings while inspiring their creative expressions in the process.
Beyond just showcasing Zaļkalns's work, this initiative collaborates with the Latvian National Museum of Art (LNMM), encompassing diverse topics such as museum architecture, artists, art history, and various other cultural themes.
