A Thousand Rooms and Songs from the Musical 'Don't Take Our Princess'. Dežo Ursiny's Work Will be Performed in a Special Version in Bratislava and Prague

Jakub Ursiny is set to perform a tribute to his late father, Dežo Ursiny, in a concert tour that will conclude with performances in Bratislava and Prague, featuring guest singer Nina Kohout.

Jakub Ursiny has been dedicated to performing songs by his late father, Dežo Ursiny, since 2011, but he feels he has reached a new height with his current band. Last year, he embarked on a concert tour titled 'Dežo ví', traversing the territories of former Czechoslovakia. This tour will culminate in two special concerts, one in Bratislava and another in Prague on March 14, 2023, at the Akropolis venue. During these concerts, he will feature talented singer Nina Kohout, who brings her own flair to the rich catalog of Dežo Ursiny's music.

The collaboration with Nina Kohout emerged when the drummer, Majo Slávka, suggested they include a guest vocalist to enhance the performance. Although Jakub initially struggled to find the right artist, he eventually considered Kohout, who eagerly accepted the invitation despite having limited prior collaboration with Jakub. This pairing is expected to create a unique experience for fans of Ursiny's music, as Kohout's style aligns well with the tribute band's intentions to dive deeper into Ursiny's legacy.

As they prepare for these performances, both Jakub and Nina are excited about the opportunity to honor Dežo Ursiny, a renowned Slovak musician known for his profound impact on the music scene. The concerts aim not only to celebrate his work but also to introduce it to new audiences, potentially reigniting interest in Ursiny's extensive and rich repertoire.
