Wife at her parental home, not coming despite being called, on Holi husband took a horrific step

A 32-year-old man named Dushyant committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh after facing severe mental stress due to his wife living at her parental home for the past ten months.

In a tragic incident in the Puhnera village of Jalesar police station area, 32-year-old Dushyant reportedly took his own life by shooting himself with an illegal weapon. His prolonged stress stemmed from his wife's absence, who had been living at her parental home for nearly ten months and had been unresponsive to his calls for her to return. This situation influenced Dushyant's mental state severely, leading him to consume alcohol before the act.

Local residents informed the police that Dushyant had been under significant emotional distress due to family issues. The reported absence of his wife, who did not return even after his repeated appeals, exacerbated his situation. The incident took place after a night of drinking, when Dushyant tragically opted for the irreversible decision of gun suicide, further highlighting the concerning issue of mental health and familial relationships in rural areas of India.

The Jalesar police have initiated an investigation, retrieving the weapon used and sending the body for postmortem. The station head, Amit Kumar, noted that while this appears to be a suicide at first glance, the exact circumstances will be clarified following the autopsy report. This case draws attention to the mental health challenges faced by individuals in distressing familial situations, and such occurrences underline the need for support systems in these communities.
