The Castello Sforzesco in Milan has inaugurated a new section dedicated to Ancient Egypt, showcasing 330 works of art and artifacts that offer a glimpse into the rich civilization of the Pharaohs. Among the highlights is a well-preserved mummy displayed within its ornate sarcophagus, alongside a striking limestone statue of Pharaoh Amenemhat and fragments of the Book of the Dead, which draw visitors into the enigmatic world of Ancient Egypt.

This new museum section is housed in the Visconti Halls of the castle, which have been renovated to create an immersive experience for guests. The historical significance of these pieces is accentuated by the setting, allowing visitors to journey through three millennia of history and culture. The collection at Castello Sforzesco already boasts over 3,000 Egyptian artifacts, attracting around 100,000 visitors annually, making it a significant cultural site in Milan.

The exhibition not only enhances the existing collection but also serves to educate and fascinate the public about the complexities of Ancient Egyptian civilization, highlighting its art, culture, and historical context.
