Fortuner Wreaks Havoc, MBBS Student Stuck in Railing, Dies

A speeding Fortuner vehicle caused a tragic accident in Gorakhpur, India, resulting in the death of an MBBS student.

A devastating accident occurred on the Mohaddipur overbridge in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a speeding Fortuner vehicle collided head-on with scooter and motorcycle riders. The crash was so severe that a 22-year-old MBBS student from BRD Medical College, Akash Pandey, was thrown into the railings, where he tragically died at the scene. Witnesses reported the violent nature of the accident that led to Akash’s death and highlighted the reckless driving of the Fortuner's owner, who ignored traffic rules by coming from the wrong side.

In addition to Akash, three other individuals were affected by the collision, with two students sustaining serious injuries and another person suffering minor wounds. The incident prompted immediate action from local police officials from Kauwa Bagh and Mohaddipur posts, who arrived swiftly to transport the injured to a nearby hospital. The deceased was later sent for a post-mortem examination. The local police chief, SP City Abhinav Tyagi, emphasized the ongoing investigation, which includes analyzing CCTV footage to identify the vehicle involved in the accident.

This tragic event highlights the alarming increase in road accidents due to reckless driving behavior in India, particularly among younger drivers. The loss of young lives like Akash's not only underscores the immediate need for stricter traffic enforcement but also brings attention to broader issues such as driver education and public safety on roads.
