A paramedic based in Forli, Italy, is under investigation after five elderly patients suffered cardiac arrest while being transported by him for medical treatment. The patients, who were already dealing with serious illnesses, required transport between their homes, nursing homes, and hospitals. The investigation began when the ambulance service grew suspicious after four patients died between February and November 2025, all of whom had been transported in the same ambulance as the suspect.

In an effort to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths, the ambulance service, in collaboration with law enforcement, installed hidden cameras and audio recording devices within the ambulance. Unfortunately, a fifth victim, an 85-year-old woman being transferred from a hospital to a rehabilitation center, also succumbed to cardiac arrest in the suspect's ambulance in November 2025. The autopsy of the last victim prompted the ambulance service and authorities to escalate their investigation, leading to further scrutiny of the paramedic's actions.

While the man has maintained his innocence, the series of cardiac arrests occurring under his care has raised serious concerns about potential foul play.
