Cine-Vagão screens national films in March in Sorocaba

Cine-Vagão in Sorocaba will showcase four Brazilian films each Thursday in March, coinciding with the anticipation of Brazil's participation in the 2026 Oscars.

In Sorocaba, São Paulo, the Cine-Vagão is set to present Brazilian cinema throughout March 2026, with screenings scheduled every Thursday at 7 PM. This initiative will take place at various historical railway sites, including the Estação Paula Souza and other notable locations along the Sorocaba - Votorantim railway.

The film lineup kicks off in conjunction with the excitement surrounding Brazil’s nomination for the 2026 Oscar, scheduled for March 15. Notably, the films to be screened include acclaimed titles such as "Que horas ela volta" on March 5, followed by a double feature of "Saneamento básico" and "Ilha das Flores" on March 12. Additional screenings include "Reflexões de um liquidificador" on March 19, and "Eu receberia as piores notícias dos seus lindos lábios" on March 26.

This cultural project, organized by the Sorocabana - Movimento de Preservação Ferroviária, utilizes a historic passenger car built in 1951 for the old Sorocabana Railway. It aims to celebrate not only Brazilian cinema but also the rich heritage of the railway that played a significant role in local history, providing a unique atmosphere for enjoying these films and connecting with the cultural identity of the region.
