Lagos State has begun online registration for the 2026 Screening Test for Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools.
The Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has launched online registration for the 2026 Screening Test for Model Colleges and Upgraded Junior Secondary Schools, aimed at facilitating admissions for the 2026/2027 academic year. The registration period, which commenced on January 19, 2026, will run until May 15, 2026, allowing eligible candidates—specifically Primary Six pupils from both public and private schools across the state—to apply via the Lagos State Examinations Board's official portal.
Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, the Registrar of the Board, emphasized the importance of timely registration and urged parents, guardians, and educators to ensure that eligible pupils complete the process. The Screening Test is crucial for students aiming for admission into prestigious educational institutions within the state, and it is expected to follow a Computer-Based Test format, reflecting the government's push towards modernizing educational assessments.
Scheduled for May 27-29, 2026, the test will be held at designated centers statewide. This initiative not only simplifies the admission process but also aims to enhance the quality of education by ensuring that pupils are well-prepared and assessed fairly, ultimately contributing to the state’s educational objectives and aspirations.
