Fresh mozzarella is born on board Moby ships, the 'subway' of the sea between Tuscany and Sardinia
Moby ferry ships have transformed maritime connections in the Mediterranean, offering a unique culinary experience alongside extensive travel services.
The Moby Fantasy and Moby Legacy, two flagship ferries, are now central to Mediterranean maritime connections, particularly on the Livorno-Olbia route, operating year-round. These vessels are noted for their size and environmental sustainability, earning them the title of Italy's most significant floating infrastructure and a testament to innovation in passenger transport. Their function goes beyond mere transportation as they provide a continuous link between Sardinia and the mainland.
A key feature of these ferries is the culinary experience they offer through the 'Gusti Giusti' project, developed in collaboration with the Ligabue group. An entire deck is dedicated to gastronomic offerings, which includes a gourmet restaurant, pizzeria, self-service dining, fresh pasta lab, fruit market, and various themed corners. This onboard experience integrates food with travel, giving passengers a taste of Italian cuisine while they traverse the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
The initiative not only enhances the journey for passengers but also reflects a broader trend in dining and travel where culinary experiences are increasingly integral to tourism. By transforming travel into a more enjoyable gastronomic adventure, Moby is setting new standards in the maritime industry and encouraging a culture of slow travel that celebrates regional flavors and sustainability.
