Apple launches MacBook Neo, the brand's 'popular' model; see prices in Brazil
Apple has launched the MacBook Neo, a more affordable laptop option in Brazil, starting at R$ 7,299.
On October 4, Apple introduced the MacBook Neo, a new addition to its lineup aimed at offering a more affordable option for consumers in Brazil. Priced at R$ 7,299 for the 256 GB storage model and R$ 8,499 for the 512 GB version with a fingerprint sensor keyboard, the MacBook Neo emerges as the cheapest laptop from the brand, eclipsing the previous entry-level model, the MacBook Air, which sold for R$ 14,000.
The MacBook Neo features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408 x 1506 pixels, and it includes modern connectivity options such as two USB-C ports and a headphone jack. In a significant shift for the company's portable devices, the Neo is powered by the A18 Pro processor, the same chip found in the iPhone 16 Pro, marking the first time an iPhone processor has been utilized in a MacBook. This move highlights Apple's strategy to cater to a broader audience in the computing market by providing a more budget-friendly option without sacrificing performance.
This launch is notable as Apple seeks to penetrate further into the Brazilian market, where traditionally priced products have limited their reach. By offering the MacBook Neo at a significantly lower price point than previous models, Apple aims to attract a diverse range of consumers, especially students and young professionals looking for performance-packed machines at a more accessible price. This product could reshape the competitive landscape for laptops in Brazil, challenging both local and international brands.
