The alarm was raised around 9:30 PM on a Tuesday evening, prompting an immediate response from the São Sebastião firefighting team. Upon arrival, they quickly assessed the situation and called for additional support from nearby units in Caraguatatuba and Ilhabela, highlighting the severity of the blaze.
