In an interview with the Athens-Macedonian News Agency, Professor Theodoros Agorastos, a gynecology and obstetrics expert, highlights a new era in the understanding of HPV and its implications, marking March 4 as World HPV Awareness Day. He states that for the first time, it is possible to prevent around ten types of cancer partly due to the availability of vaccines and more effective screening tests, such as the HPV test which offers advantages over the traditional PAP test.
