"Pigu.lt": as the calendar spring arrives, gardeners are getting busy
With the arrival of calendar spring, Lithuanian gardeners are becoming active in purchasing gardening supplies and tools, signaling a seasonal uptick in e-commerce for such items.
As the calendar spring arrives, Lithuanian gardeners are gearing up for the season by purchasing essential supplies and tools needed for gardening. February saw an influx of shoppers on Pigu.lt, a leading Lithuanian e-commerce platform, as they stocked up on various items, including tools, vegetable seeds, and insect control products. The insights shared by Pigu.lt's communications director, Nerijus Mikalajūnas, highlight the increasing popularity of garden supplies among online shoppers, indicating an average expenditure of 54 euros for a single garden product this month.
Mikalajūnas also noted that every March marks the beginning of a peak period for sales of greenhouses, cultivators, hedging plants, and pruning tools. As the gardening season progresses into the latter half of April and May, he'll likely see an increase in demand for lawn care products, such as robotic mowers, irrigation systems, trimmers, and lawnmowers. This patterns in consumer behavior are essential for retailers to understand, as they prepare to meet the seasonal needs of gardeners and outdoor enthusiasts.
The good news for gardeners this year is that Pigu.lt has prepared a wide and relevant assortment of seasonal gardening products. Furthermore, the option for customers to pick up their online gardening orders on the same day is a significant convenience, likely enhancing customer satisfaction and encouraging more people to engage in gardening activities as spring unfolds in Lithuania.
