Weather dictated needs – 'Pigu.lt' customers chose heaters and snow shovels

Customers of Pigu.lt have increasingly turned to purchasing heating appliances and snow shovels, driven by the harsh winter weather in February.

In February, the extreme winter conditions significantly influenced consumer behavior, as highlighted by Nerijus Mikalajūnas from Pigu.lt. Many customers opted for same-day item pick-up, which proved essential when immediate heating solutions or snow removal tools were necessary. The demand for portable heating solutions surged, with electric heaters leading sales, particularly the popular 2000W wall-mounted heater called 'Warm Tech'.

The data revealed that sales of air heaters in February were nearly three times higher compared to the same month the previous year, emphasizing a notable trend in consumer priorities in response to cold weather. Customers spent an average of 71 euros on heaters, with electric options being the most sought-after. Additionally, a diesel heater and thermostat priced at 750 euros emerged as the highest priced choice among shoppers this season.

Moreover, with winter's grip remaining strong, other snow-removal products such as snow shovels and automotive ice scrapers continued to be in demand. This seasonal demand indicates an ongoing trend where extreme weather directly impacts consumer purchasing decisions, highlighting the importance of adaptability in retail offerings during unpredictable climates.
