A man reported a lost phone to the police a week later at the famous Plungė dormitory
A man filed a police report a week after a conflict led to the theft of his phone and watch at a dormitory in Plungė, Lithuania.
A man born in 1995 filed a report at the Plungė police station on Tuesday, indicating that on February 26, around 1 PM, a conflict occurred at the dormitory on A. Vaišvilos Street in Plungė. During this altercation, an acquaintance physically assaulted him and stole his Xiaomi Redmi Note mobile phone along with a Huawei Watch 2 GT. The total alleged loss amounted to 400 euros.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the reported robbery. The delay in reporting the theft raised questions, as it took the individual a week to approach law enforcement. Such delays can complicate investigations, as evidence may become harder to gather over time and potential witnesses may forget crucial details.
The incident brings to light ongoing concerns regarding safety in communal living environments such as dormitories, where conflicts may escalate and lead to criminal activities. With the rising number of thefts reported in such settings, it highlights the need for increased awareness and preventive measures among residents.
