As tensions rise in the Middle East, numerous Indian citizens still find themselves stranded in the region, prompting the Indian government to take immediate and special measures to ensure their safe return. In the last 48 hours, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken with leaders from eight countries in the Gulf and West Asia, condemning the recent violence and emphasizing the necessity for peace and stability in the region while expressing gratitude for the efforts to ensure the safety of Indian citizens.
In addition to diplomatic engagements, SpiceJet has announced plans to operate eight special flights from the UAE on March 4, which will depart from Fujairah Airport to various Indian destinations including Delhi, Mumbai, and Kochi. This initiative follows a similar operation on March 3, where four special flights successfully transported stranded individuals back to India, highlighting the government's commitment to assist its citizens in the midst of rising regional tensions.
Furthermore, Saudi Airlines' flight SV756 recently landed at Delhi's IGI Airport, facilitating the return of pilgrims who travel through Jeddah, a significant entry point to Mecca. Alongside this, IndiGo has also indicated it will operate four special flights from Jeddah to Indian cities, ensuring that those in need can return home as swiftly as possible amid the ongoing crisis.
