Oando reaffirms support for indigenous upstream growth
Oando Energy Resources has reiterated its commitment to enhancing Nigeria's indigenous upstream oil and gas ecosystem following discussions with industry leaders.
Oando Energy Resources, represented by Managing Director Ainojie Irune, has expressed its continued support for the enhancement of Nigeria's indigenous upstream oil and gas industry. This commitment comes after a strategic meeting with Adegbite Falade, the Chairman of the Independent Petroleum Producers Group and Managing Director/CEO of Aradel Holdings, aimed at strengthening collaboration among local producers. The discussions emphasized the importance of coordinated advocacy efforts as domestic operators become more pivotal in managing Nigeria's oil and gas production.
During the visit, Falade highlighted Oando's significant influence within the Independent Petroleum Producers Group (IPPG) and its vital role in the broader upstream sector. He pointed out that indigenous producers have dramatically transformed Nigeria's upstream industry over the last decade, shifting the focus to local operators who now account for over half of the nation's oil production. Oando, being a key player, has been fundamental in supporting this transition and achieving collective goals.
The statement from Oando underscores the company's commitment to working closely with other local firms to bolster the upstream ecosystem's development. As the landscape of Nigeria's oil production evolves, the proactive engagement by Oando and other indigenous companies is essential to ensure sustainability, competitiveness, and increased local contributions to the industry, benefiting the economy at large.
