China's Foreign Minister Urges Israel to Halt Military Actions, Says 'Force Leads to Serious Consequences'
China's foreign minister has called for an immediate halt to Israel's military actions, warning that the use of force could lead to severe aftereffects.
As tensions in the Middle East escalate due to attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged Israel to stop its military actions, asserting that resolving issues through force would result in serious repercussions. During a phone conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, Wang Yi acknowledged that while there had been clear progress in nuclear negotiations between Iran and the U.S., these discussions had been disrupted due to ongoing attacks by the U.S. and Israel on Iran. He expressed China's opposition to military strikes against Iran and emphasized that military force neither solves problems nor prevents new ones from arising.
Wang Yi's remarks come after China has consistently supported Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity following the recent bombardments by the U.S. and Israel. He underscored the necessity of ceasing military actions to prevent further escalation of conflict, warning of the dangers of uncontrollable warfare in the region. He reiterated China’s advocacy for peaceful dialogue and negotiations to address both international and regional critical issues, insisting that military force or threats of violence should never be used in international relations.
Claiming a desire to play a "constructive role" in this crisis, Wang stated that China has traditionally maintained a fair stance on Middle East issues. He affirmed China's commitment to promoting stabilization efforts in the region, highlighting the country's ongoing commitment to fostering peace and dialogue amidst rising tensions.
