On the night of Tuesday, October 3, three suspects were arrested following a botched robbery at a residence in the affluent Cidade Jardim neighborhood of São Paulo. The suspects broke into a house located on Rua Dr. Alberto da Silveira and stole various items before fleeing the scene. The Metropolitan Police's 16th Battalion was notified and immediately launched a search in the vicinity to track down the perpetrators.

The suspects fled the scene in a Hyundai ix35 vehicle, which led to a police pursuit. During this chase, the suspects lost control of their vehicle at the intersection of Avenida Nove de Julho and Brazil Avenue, resulting in a crash. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported from the incident. Following the accident, police apprehended the three men, during which two pistols were seized and several stolen items were recovered, indicating the seriousness of their crime.

The case has been officially referred to the State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) for further investigation. The prompt response by the police not only led to the swift capture of the suspects but also highlighted ongoing concerns regarding safety and crime in affluent urban neighborhoods. This incident underscores the challenges local law enforcement faces in controlling crime even in areas considered to be safer due to their socioeconomic status.
