Albert Sabin Hospital will offer free medical care for residents affected by the rain

Albert Sabin Hospital in Juiz de Fora is providing free medical consultations to residents impacted by heavy rains that caused 72 deaths and many displacements in Ubá and Juiz de Fora.

In response to a tragic weather event that resulted in 72 fatalities and thousands of displaced individuals in Ubá and Juiz de Fora, Albert Sabin Hospital is organizing a series of free medical consultations. This initiative is aimed at supporting members of the community who have been affected by the catastrophic rainfall. The hospital will provide services over three days, spanning various medical specialties including pediatrics, dermatology, and psychiatry, among others.

The sessions will take place from Wednesday, February 4, to Friday, February 6, with specific time slots allocated to different medical specializations. On Wednesday, for instance, patients can seek consultations in general medicine and pediatrics during the morning, followed by more specialized services such as ecocardiograms in the afternoon. The hospital encourages community members to arrive on-site early, as services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

This initiative underscores the importance of community support in times of crisis and highlights the role of healthcare facilities in addressing urgent public health needs after natural disasters. By offering free medical care, Albert Sabin Hospital aims to alleviate some of the healthcare burdens faced by those who have suffered from both physical and mental health issues as a result of the floods.
