Campaign alerts the population about the relationship between obesity, diabetes, and kidney diseases
A national campaign in Brazil aims to raise awareness about the direct link between obesity and the development of diabetes and kidney disease.
The federation Vozes do Advocacy is leading a national campaign in Brazil to educate the public on the correlation between obesity, diabetes, and kidney diseases. This initiative includes health assessments in 14 Brazilian cities, where citizens can have their abdominal circumference measured and Body Mass Index (BMI) calculated. During the campaign, they will partner with diabetes associations to deliver health circuits designed to alert people about the health risks associated with obesity. The president of Vozes do Advocacy, Vanessa Pirolo, emphasizes that these efforts will coincide with World Obesity Day on March 4, a global initiative aimed at increasing awareness of this health issue.
