INSS CPI: rapporteur wants to summon J&F about benefits anticipation program implemented by those investigated
The rapporteur of the INSS CPI, Deputy Alfredo Gaspar, aims to investigate the Meu INSS Vale+ program linked to J&F Group regarding illegal fees and financial discrepancies.
Deputy Alfredo Gaspar, the rapporteur of the Mixed Parliamentary Inquiry Commission (CPMI) investigating the National Social Security Institute (INSS), has proposed to summon representatives from J&F Group in connection with the Meu INSS Vale+ program. This initiative allowed recipients of social benefits to anticipate part of their payments to address urgent expenses. The program started in December 2024 but was suspended in May 2025 due to charges of illegal fees and interest, raising significant legal concerns and allegations of misconduct.
The Meu INSS Vale+ program's operations were brought into question through findings from the Financial Activities Control Council (COAF), which discovered that J&F Group improperly transferred approximately R$ 55.7 million to companies associated with Danilo Trento, who is under investigation for alleged financial irregularities. These findings have prompted the CPMI to probe deeper into the financial activities and relationships between J&F and those involved in the benefits anticipation program.
This investigation highlights broader issues regarding transparency and accountability within Brazil's social security and welfare systems. The implications of these inquiries could lead to significant reforms in how social benefits are managed and monitored, as well as potential legal repercussions for the individuals and companies involved in the alleged misconduct.
