Man drove into the harbor and rescued himself out of the car

A 49-year-old man managed to escape his car after accidentally driving into a harbor in Odense, Denmark.

On Tuesday afternoon, a remarkable incident occurred in Odense, Denmark, where a driver inadvertently drove his car into the harbor. The local police received a call about the submerged vehicle at 5:02 PM, and upon their arrival, they found that the 49-year-old male driver had successfully freed himself from the car. Fortunately, he was unharmed based on initial assessments, despite the potentially dangerous situation.

The driver explained that the plunge into the harbor was unintentional, but the specific circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear according to police spokesperson Henrik Krøjgaard. He noted that the car, a BMW 320, did not leak oil or pose an environmental hazard, which would typically prompt immediate action from authorities to recover submerged vehicles.

As a result, the responsibility for retrieving the car will likely fall to the driver's insurance company, as there is no immediate risk associated with the vehicle in the water. Krøjgaard mentioned that it would be up to the insurance to manage the recovery of the car, emphasizing the routine nature of such incidents and the importance of addressing them through proper channels.
