Pickup collided with divider on Lucknow-Agra Expressway

A tragic accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway resulted in the death of a three-year-old girl and the driver, with around eight others injured.

On Sunday morning, a severe accident occurred on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway near Gang Gahr Purwa village, specifically at kilometer 224. A speeding pickup loader crashed into the divider, leading to the untimely deaths of a three-year-old girl and the driver of the vehicle. Approximately eight passengers were injured in the incident, which was captured on CCTV footage showing the pickup colliding with the divider.

The passengers, who were migrant workers hailing from Faridabad, Delhi, were on their way back home to Auras for the Holi festival. This tragic event underscores the dangers of road travel, particularly during festive seasons when many families are traveling. Following the accident, local authorities including the Circle Officer and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate arrived at the scene to assess the situation and provide necessary assistance.

After the unfortunate incident, police and rescue teams worked to clear the wreckage using a crane, which facilitated the restoration of normal traffic flow on the expressway. Such accidents raise concerns over road safety measures, particularly on highways, where high-speed travel is common, emphasizing the need for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent future tragedies.
