A tragic accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway resulted in the deaths of a three-year-old girl and her driver, with several others injured.
On Sunday morning, a horrific accident occurred on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway near the Bangarmau police station, close to Gang Gahar Purwa village at kilometer mark 224. A speeding pickup loader lost control and crashed into the divider, causing the tragic death of a three-year-old girl and the driver, while approximately eight others sustained injuries in the incident. Reports indicate that the pickup loader, bearing the registration number UP83 CT 6615, was carrying a dozen passengers at the time of the accident. The vehicle collided with such force that numerous passengers were severely injured.
Police and UPEDA staff rushed to the scene following the accident, and all injured individuals were taken to a Community Health Center (CHC) in Bangarmau. Sadly, the doctors pronounced both the driver and the three-year-old girl dead on arrival. The conditions of the other injured individuals are currently being monitored as the medical staff continue their treatment. This tragic event has drawn attention to the safety measures on the expressway, especially concerning vehicles carrying multiple passengers.
CCTV footage of the accident has surfaced, showcasing the pickup loader colliding with the divider. It has been reported that all passengers were migrant workers from Faridabad, Delhi, who were returning to their hometown in Auras during the Holi festival. This incident underscores the risks associated with high-speed travel and the potential dangers of overcrowded vehicles on highways in India.
