Ex-senator emerges Anambra APC chairman

Emmanuel Anosike has been elected as the new Chairman of the Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) through a consensus arrangement.

Emmanuel Anosike, a former senator who represented Anambra North, has been elected the Chairman of the Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His election took place at a state congress held at the party's headquarters in Awka, where a consensus arrangement was used to elect him and other executive members. Anosike is also known for his leadership role at the Anambra Imo River Basin Development Commission.

The election results were announced by Rear Admiral Williams Kayoda (rtd), the Chairman of the State Congress Committee. He reported that approximately 2,100 delegates endorsed the consensus list of State Executive Committee members through a voice affirmation process, which aligned with the party's constitutional provisions for such elections. Other key positions filled include Chief Chidi Orji as Vice Chairman and Obi Okpala as Secretary, among others.

This election comes against the backdrop of internal dynamics within the APC in Anambra State, where consensus arrangements have increasingly been used to foster unity and reduce conflicts within the party ranks. Anosike's leadership is expected to impact the party's strategies and initiatives in the region as they plan for upcoming electoral challenges in Nigeria.
