OsloMet students in the Middle East
Ten photojournalism students from OsloMet and an instructor are currently in Jordan for a language trip.
On Tuesday morning, it was reported that 18 students from the University of Oslo (UiO) are on a language trip in Jordan, and the same applies to ten students from Oslo Metropolitan University (OsloMet). These students, majoring in photojournalism, are accompanied by an instructor and are confirmed to be in Jordan by Dean Oddgeir Osland. The university maintains regular communication with them, ensuring their well-being during the trip.
Dean Osland mentioned that the university is in daily contact with the students and has conducted several digital meetings to keep in touch. The students have reported feeling safe and well. Moreover, a digital information meeting for the relatives of the students back in Norway has already taken place, providing reassurance to families regarding their loved ones' circumstances abroad.
The university is actively working to arrange for the students' safe return to Norway on Tuesday afternoon, highlighting the importance of their safety and timely return amidst concerns related to their stay in the Middle East. This situation presents a critical opportunity for the institution to showcase its commitment to student welfare while ensuring that students are adequately prepared for international studies.
