HackTown opens ticket sales for the 2026 edition; event celebrates 10 years
HackTown has begun ticket sales for its 2026 edition, which marks the 10th anniversary of the festival.
HackTown has officially started selling tickets for its 2026 edition, which will take place from September 3 to 7 in Santa Rita do Sapucaí, known for its designation as the 'Valley of Electronics'. This year’s festival commemorates a decade since its inception in 2016, when it first aimed to blend technology and culture.
The festival, inspired by the renowned South by Southwest, includes a diverse range of activities such as lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and artistic performances that take place in various venues including companies, schools, bars, and public spaces throughout the city. Santa Rita do Sapucaí is not only significant for hosting this event, but is also home to over 150 tech companies and institutions like the National Institute of Telecommunications and the Technical School of Electronics, highlighting its importance in Brazil's technology landscape.
Originally launched in February 2016, HackTown has faced challenges, including the cancellation of its 2020 and 2021 editions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it successfully resumed in 2022, and the upcoming 2026 festival is anticipated to be a major celebration, attracting tech enthusiasts and industry leaders from across the region and further afield, showcasing advancements in technology while fostering community engagement and innovation.
