A police vehicle from the Penal Police overturned on the morning of Friday, the 27th, on BR-343 in the municipality of Piracuruca, Northern Piauí. The vehicle was reportedly en route from a penitentiary in Buriti dos Lopes to the capital Teresina when it lost control around 10:50 AM. Emergency services were called to the scene to assist those involved.

According to the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu), there were two Penal Police officers and four female detainees in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Fortunately, it has been reported that none of the detainees were injured, although one police officer sustained a bruise on her arm and was taken to a hospital in Parnaíba for treatment.
