This event invites the public to celebrate the intersection of literature and cinema, with nine films based on renowned novels set to be screened during this five-day period.
The films showcased in this tribute are directed by iconic filmmakers such as Orson Welles, François Truffaut, and Michael Cacoyannis, among others. They adapt works from celebrated authors including Nikos Kazantzakis, Franz Kafka, and other literary giants. This celebration not only highlights the rich connections between literature and film but also provides audiences with an opportunity to engage with beloved narratives in a new medium.
Moreover, the program includes popular films by local directors inspired by books, as well as a film written and directed by the illustrious author Marguerite Duras.
