At a recent graduation ceremony for the first cohort of health fellows, she highlighted key initiatives aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes while ensuring broader access to necessary healthcare services. Under the Federal Government’s National Health Fellowship Programme, which is part of President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, young professionals were deployed to help deliver healthcare services across local government areas in the state. The health fellowship initiative has proven instrumental in reinforcing primary healthcare delivery and promoting accountability within the health system. Dr. Coker noted that these health fellows have been crucial in driving innovation and service delivery across 20 local government areas in Ogun State. Their involvement is seen as a critical step towards addressing healthcare challenges in underserved communities and improving overall health outcomes. During the ceremony, the commissioner also mentioned the onboarding of a second cohort of health fellows, signifying ongoing efforts to sustain and expand the impact of this initiative.
