The Greek Ministry of Digital Governance has launched a €102 million project to upgrade and enhance its private cloud infrastructure and backup systems.
The Greek Ministry of Digital Governance has announced a substantial project titled "Renewal and Upgrade of the Provision of Private Cloud Services for Database and Continuous Backup Infrastructure," with a total budget of €102 million, including options and VAT. This initiative aims to refurbish and modernize the private cloud infrastructure located at both the main and backup data centers of the General Secretariat for Information Systems and Digital Governance (GSISDG), emphasizing the need for robust database backup mechanisms.
The project's key goal is to ensure the uninterrupted functioning and operational continuity of the information systems hosted within the GSISDG, which are crucial for government operations. The venture will entail the provision of installation, management, and monitoring services for the newly upgraded infrastructure, operating on a 24/7 basis to guarantee stability and reliability in government data handling.
The contractor selected for this project will be responsible for the procurement, installation, and configuration of the necessary equipment and software, which will likely include state-of-the-art technology aimed at enhancing the efficiency and security of government data resources. This investment not only aims at technological advancement but also ensures that critical government services remain uninterrupted in the event of technical failures, reinforcing the importance of digital resilience in public administration.
