The new gov.gr changes our relationship with the state: From 2,230 services to the next step
The Greek government's digital portal, gov.gr, has evolved into a central hub of public administration services, aiming to enhance citizen engagement through a more personalized interface.
Starting as a crucial initiative during the pandemic, the Greek digital portal gov.gr has become the main digital platform for public administration, aggregating over 2,230 services from various ministries, agencies, and regions. With more than 2.5 million monthly visits, this digital gateway has gained citizens' trust, transitioning from merely showcasing services to offering a unified, personalized point of contact between citizens and the state.
This transformation is underscored by the development of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) project titled 'Unified Digital Infrastructure for Citizen and Business Services,' which aims to simplify and accelerate daily interactions with public administration for both citizens and governmental entities. The focus of this initiative is to create a seamless experience, allowing users to navigate their needs in a more effective manner.
According to the Minister of Digital Governance, since 2019, the digital transformation of the state has been a top government priority, reflecting a commitment to modernize public services and enhance administrative efficiency. As Greece continues to invest in digital solutions, this initiative represents a forward-looking strategy to improve how citizens engage with the state, promising a more effective and efficient public service framework in the future.
