Holi will be celebrated for the first time at 68 pilgrimage sites in Sambhal, Section 163 implemented throughout the district
This year's Holi celebration in Sambhal will extend beyond neighborhoods, reaching 68 newly revived pilgrimage sites with a robust security arrangement in place.
In Sambhal, the festival of Holi is set to expand beyond the usual localities and gatherings, reaching 68 pilgrimage sites that have recently undergone revitalization. Social organizations claim this is the first instance of a simultaneous celebration of the color festival across all these sites, creating a vibrant atmosphere throughout the city. Preparations are in full swing, with every corner resonating with the festivities, alongside a strong security framework ensuring safety during the celebrations.
The Nagar Hindu Sabha, the Tirth Parikrama Committee, and various temple committees have collaboratively planned rituals including lighting lamps and holding a Gulal (colored powder) festival at these 68 pilgrimage sites and 19 wells. Organizers aim to replicate the extensive Holi celebrations seen in Mathura and Vrindavan, suggesting that the festivities in Sambhal will have a similar prolonged celebratory atmosphere. Activities planned include morning prayers at Radha-Krishna temples, offering gulal at noon, and a lamps festival in the evening, with cultural programs and devotional evenings for children at several locations.
The priests from the temples express their delight at the collective celebration of Holi across these pilgrimage sites, hoping this new chapter in tradition will enhance community bonding and participation in cultural festivities. With the excitement surrounding the revitalization of religious sites, this Holi celebration not only aims at color and joy but also encompasses spiritual rejuvenation and community gatherings, marking a significant milestone in the celebration of cultural heritage in Sambhal.
