US and Israel attacks killed 742 civilians in Iran, says human rights NGO
Airstrikes led by the United States and Israel in Iran have reportedly resulted in the deaths of 742 civilians, as reported by the HRANA human rights organization.
According to the HRANA (Human Rights News Agency), airstrikes conducted by the United States and Israel against Iran have resulted in the deaths of 742 civilians during the conflict that began on Saturday, with an additional 971 people injured and 624 fatalities currently under investigation. This organization has a history of documenting civilian casualties and previously reported thousands of deaths due to Iranian governmental repression during protests in January 2026.
The report indicated that among those killed, 176 were children, and 115 more were reported injured. A significant proportion of the civilian casualties occurred during an airstrike that targeted a primary school in Minab, located in southern Iran, highlighting the tragic implications of military actions in civilian areas. This incident raises serious concerns regarding the protection of civilians and adherence to international law during armed conflicts.
In contrast, the Israeli Defense Forces stated they were unaware of any operations in the region, while the U.S. Central Command acknowledged they were investigating reports of "civilian damage". American media reports have noted that videos circulating on social media align with the geographic context of the targeted school, which is situated near a Revolutionary Guard facility, further complicating the narrative surrounding the military activities in the area and the resulting civilian impact.
