Iran's Red Crescent reports the death toll from air strikes
Air strikes by Israel and the US in Iran have resulted in 201 deaths and 747 injuries, according to the Iranian Red Crescent.
The Iranian Red Crescent reported that air strikes by Israeli and US forces have resulted in at least 201 fatalities and 747 injuries in Iran on Saturday. Rescue operations are ongoing, with 220 Red Crescent teams deployed across the affected areas. Notably, the strikes have impacted 24 of Iran's 31 provinces, exacerbating an already tense situation in the region.
One of the most devastating incidents occurred in Minab, located in Hormozgan province, where a missile hit a girls’ elementary school, leading to the deaths of at least 85 individuals according to regional prosecutors. The air strikes have affected major cities, including the capital, Tehran, indicating a broad and coordinated military offensive. This escalation in violence raises significant concerns regarding civilian safety and humanitarian conditions in the impacted areas.
In retaliation, Iran has launched counter-strikes against Israel and US military facilities in Bahrain and other Gulf states. This back-and-forth exchange of military actions underscores the deepening conflict and suggests a potential for further escalation, impacting regional stability and international relations, particularly in involving Western and Middle Eastern powers.
