Grupo Folha changes advertising director
Advertising executive Alexandre Cres has taken over as the new commercial director of advertising at Grupo Folha in Brazil.
Alexandre Cres, a seasoned advertising executive, has been appointed as the new commercial director of advertising at Grupo Folha, effective from this Monday. He succeeds Marcelo Benez, who has been with the company since 1994. Cres brings extensive experience from previous roles in major tech and media companies such as Microsoft, Yahoo!, Meta, and TikTok, where he developed successful sales strategies for various industries.
After leaving his position as director of sales and multiplatform head at CNN Brasil, Cres joins Grupo Folha with a strong background in advertising and business management. Holding a degree in advertising from FAAP and advanced degrees from Mackenzie and Columbia Business School, he is positioned to enhance the advertising strategies at Grupo Folha. His expertise is expected to play a significant role in driving sales and extracting further value from the company’s advertising potential.
This shift in leadership not only marks a changing of the guard within Grupo Folha but also reflects ongoing trends within the Brazilian advertising industry, which relies heavily on innovation and adaptation to a rapidly evolving market. Cres's history of leadership and recognition, such as the Golden Club Award at Microsoft, positions him well to navigate these challenges and leverage opportunities for growth within the company’s advertising division.
