Kura Sushi has been awarded a Guinness World Record for having the most rotating sushi restaurant locations globally, totaling 694 outlets.
Kura Sushi, a popular conveyor belt sushi chain in Japan, has announced that it has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records for having the most locations of rotating sushi restaurants in the world. As of last December, Kura Sushi operates a total of 694 restaurants across domestic and international markets, including 550 in Japan, 83 in the United States, and 61 in Taiwan. This significant milestone highlights the brand's extensive reach and popularity both in Japan and abroad.
On the same day of the announcement, a certificate recognizing this achievement was presented at Kura Sushi's flagship store in Namba, Osaka, by an official Guinness World Records representative. Hiroshi Okamoto, a director at Kura Sushi, emphasized that the conveyor belt system is fundamental to the appeal of their sushi offerings. He expressed a commitment to continue enhancing customer enjoyment through innovations and dedicated service on the rotating belt, aiming to sustain the charm that draws customers to their establishments.
