The Polish government has designated new representatives to the Venice Commission, a body focused on democratic governance and the rule of law in Europe. The appointed members are Prof. Wojciech Sadurski and Prof. Monika Florczak-Wątor, both highly respected figures in the field of constitutional law. Prof. Sadurski is a lawyer specializing in constitutional law and human rights, known for his work on democracy, authoritarianism, and fundamental rights both in Poland and across Europe. He teaches at the University of Sydney and the European Centre at the University of Warsaw, making him a key player in discussions surrounding the rule of law in Europe.

Prof. Florczak-Wątor is a professor at Jagiellonian University, where she leads the Department of Constitutional Law. Her expertise includes individual rights and freedoms, the functioning of the Constitutional Tribunal, and constitutional protection standards in Poland and Europe.
