The discovery raised alarm, leading the local fire department to be called in to recover the bones from the water and mud. The remains were located at the intersection of Rua Mato Grosso with Rua do Canal do Jandiá, adjacent to a beverage distribution point.

According to the police, the remains were significantly decomposed, and only the lower part of the body, from the trunk to the thighs, was recovered.
