The Palestinian governor of Jerusalem announced that Israeli authorities have continued their settlement projects in the city, revealing that 20 settlement plans were announced in February alone. This information was documented in a monthly report that highlights ongoing Israeli violations in the region, reinforcing the colonial policies aimed at bolstering control over Jerusalem through extensive settlement schemes that include construction and land appropriation.

According to the report, which is based on daily monitoring of official Israeli announcements and the actions of the occupying municipality in Jerusalem, seven of the plans have progressed to the penultimate approval stage, which involves plans for the construction of 613 settlement units spanning an area of approximately 960 dunams (where one dunam equals 1,000 square meters). Additionally, five plans that were approved include the construction of 51 settlement units on 40 dunams, and another plan for bidding that involves building 231 settlement units.

The report also records 47 attacks carried out by settlers during the same month, indicating a troubling trend of violence that accompanies the settlement expansions. This documentation underlines the urgent need for international attention and intervention regarding Israeli settlement activities, which continue to impact the socio-political landscape of Jerusalem and the rights of Palestinians in the region.
