The Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) is currently facing operational disruptions impacting its online services, coinciding with the beginning of the tax declaration period. According to Johan Persson, the agency's press secretary, the services have been down since 11:30 AM, and ongoing troubleshooting is underway. However, he noted that there is no projected timeline for when these issues might be resolved.

The problem has been attributed to an external provider, and it is not only the Tax Agency that is affected; the Election Authority (Valmyndigheten) and the Enforcement Authority (Kronofogdemyndigheten) are also experiencing disruptions. Johan Persson clarified that the situation is not due to a DDoS attack or any form of overload, which alleviates concerns regarding the security of the systems in question.

Despite the ongoing issues, Persson reassured that there is currently no critical situation since no tax submissions are being processed at this moment. He emphasized the importance of restoring the services promptly as they are crucial to the agency's operations and the timely management of tax declarations, which are a vital aspect of the Swedish financial and administrative framework.
