The newly opened ACE Logistics terminal in Kaunas, Lithuania, has a budget of 7 million euros and features 40 loading ramps to accommodate the growing demand for logistics services. The company anticipates that operations from the terminal will significantly contribute to a projected 20% annual sales increase. This expansion reflects a strategic move by ACE Logistics to enhance its operational capacity amid increasing cargo volumes and the demand for efficient shipping services.
According to Juana Kudarauskienė, the CEO of ACE Logistics, the Kaunas terminal is crucial for managing cargo flows more effectively and will better prepare the company for the anticipated increase in international transport intensity. The terminal's design focuses on optimizing daily operations by minimizing unnecessary movements, providing clear logistics processes, and enhancing both procedural and security controls. This proactive approach is expected to substantially increase the company’s throughput capacity and reduce transit times for shipments.
The facility spans over 4,000 square meters and includes 36 standard loading docks, two ramps for vans, and a specialized side ramp equipped with a roof to facilitate side loading by trucks. Moreover, notable is the facility’s heating system, which utilizes 90% renewable energy, showcasing a commitment to sustainability in logistics operations.
