Kenyan MP Johana Ng’eno died in a helicopter crash in Nandi County along with five others.

On Saturday, Kenyan Member of Parliament Johana Ng’eno tragically lost his life in a helicopter crash that also claimed the lives of five other individuals. The incident occurred in Mosop, Nandi County, when the helicopter, registered as AS350 and owned by Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), was flying from Endebes to Mosoriot. At approximately 4:30 PM local time, witnesses reported the aircraft went down after encountering heavy rainfall and subsequently crashed into a tree before bursting into flames.

Ng’eno was returning from a visit to families affected by recent flooding in the Mara Rianta area and was reportedly engaged in activities supporting his constituents in the South Rift region. The KCAA has stated that they will release further details regarding the identities of the victims as families are notified. The helicopter’s crash highlights the dangers associated with flying in adverse weather conditions, especially in regions prone to heavy rainfall and other challenging meteorological factors.
