The Lithuanian Ministry of Education is offering scholarships to foreign students to encourage their integration into the Lithuanian labor market and improve their Lithuanian language skills.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Education, Science, and Sports is launching a scholarship program aimed at foreign students to foster their integration into the Lithuanian labor market. According to Deputy Minister Regina ValutytΔ, the goal is to attract talented students, particularly in fields such as computer science, life sciences, technology, and engineering. The initiative is designed not just to support students in completing their studies in Lithuania but also to encourage them to engage with the local workforce.
A total of 20 scholarships will be available for master's or integrated studies students who are in their final year and are willing to undertake a two-month internship in Lithuanian enterprises. This internship must align with the student's chosen field of study and is seen as a significant opportunity to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional experience. Each scholarship will provide a monthly stipend of 650 euros during the internship.
The scholarship selection process will be overseen by the Ministry, signaling a concerted effort to increase the number of foreign graduates who remain in Lithuania after their studies, thereby enhancing the country's labor market with internationally trained professionals and enriching its cultural diversity.
